It’s where you can revisit your session, choose your favorites, download your images, share them with the people you love, and—perhaps most importantly—turn the photographs you love into tangible pieces of your family’s story.
If you’ve never used an online photography gallery before, don’t worry. Here’s everything you need to know.
Step 1: Opening Your Online Photo Gallery
When your gallery is ready, you’ll receive a link that takes you directly to your personal collection.
Depending on your gallery settings, you may also receive a password or download PIN. Keep this information somewhere safe because you may need it when accessing or downloading your photographs.
Pixieset galleries are designed to make viewing professional photographs simple and intuitive across devices.
Once you’re inside, take your time.
Seriously.
You waited for these photographs. Don’t feel like you need to immediately start downloading files or deciding which ones belong on your walls.
Scroll through them. Make them full screen. Notice the expressions and little details. Find the photographs that immediately make you smile.
Those instinctive favorites are often the ones you’ll love most years from now.
Step 2: Choose Your Favorites
See a photograph you absolutely love?
Look for the heart icon.
Pixieset allows clients to create Favorite Lists within their galleries. Your favorites stay organized in one convenient place, making it much easier to return to the images you love most.
You can access your Favorite List by selecting the heart icon at the top of your gallery.
This feature is especially helpful when you’re deciding which images you want to display in your home.
Instead of repeatedly scrolling through your entire gallery thinking, Was it this one or the other one?, start adding the images that immediately stand out.
Then look at those favorites together.
You may begin noticing something.
Maybe you’re drawn to photographs where everyone is laughing rather than looking at the camera.
Perhaps you love the quiet images of you holding your baby.
Maybe there’s one photograph of your child that captures their personality so perfectly that you can’t stop looking at it.
Those are the photographs worth doing something with.

Step 3: Download Your Photographs
Depending on your collection and package, downloading your digital photographs can be done directly through your gallery.
You may have the option to download individual photographs or your complete gallery.
For a full-gallery download, look for the Download icon near the top of your gallery. Pixieset may ask you to enter your email address and the download PIN provided with your collection.
You’ll then choose your available download options and begin the download.
If you’re downloading an entire collection to a computer, Pixieset typically packages the photographs into a ZIP file. You’ll simply unzip that file after downloading to access the individual photographs.

A Quick Tip: Don’t Leave Your Photographs Only in Your Gallery
Once you’ve downloaded your images, back them up.
Save copies somewhere other than your phone or computer. Cloud storage and an external drive can provide additional protection for photographs you never want to lose.
Technology changes. Computers fail. Phones disappear.
Your photographs deserve more than one home.
But there’s another way to make sure your favorite photographs don’t disappear into digital storage:
Print them.
Step 4: Order Professional Prints Directly From Your Gallery
This might be our favorite part.
Your photographs weren’t created to spend the next twenty years sitting in a folder on your computer.

Through your online gallery, you may have the opportunity to purchase professional-quality photographic products using the images from your session.
Pixieset’s integrated Store allows professional photographers to offer prints and other photographic products directly through client galleries. That means you don’t have to download an image, upload it somewhere else, crop it again, and hope the final print looks the way you expected.
You can choose your photograph and order right from the gallery.

Don’t worry about choosing the photograph you think is technically the “best.”

Step 6: Share Your Gallery With Family
One of the best parts of receiving new portraits is sharing them.
Depending on the sharing and privacy settings enabled for your gallery, Pixieset allows galleries or selections of photographs to be shared with family and friends.
That means Grandma doesn’t have to wait for screenshots sent through a text message.
You can let the people you love experience the photographs the way they were intended to be seen.
Just remember to be thoughtful about sharing gallery passwords, PINs, or private links, particularly when your gallery contains photographs of your children.
