When you book a photography session, you’re not just booking photos.
As a Kansas City maternity, newborn, and family photographer, I work with expecting and growing families who want more than a quick session. They want a thoughtfully planned, guided experience that results in timeless artwork for their home. You’re trusting me to see your family, your season of life, and the moments you want to remember long after the days feel like a blur.
I believe your experience should feel thoughtful, calm, and intentionally designed from start to finish, never rushed, overwhelming, or transactional. Today, I want to take you behind the lens and walk you through exactly what that process looks like when you work with me.

Every experience begins with connection. From your initial inquiry, my goal is to truly understand you, your family, your expectations, and what matters most in this season of life.
Before we ever pick up a camera, we talk through:
-The stage of life you’re in (expecting, welcoming a newborn, growing toddlers, or documenting motherhood)
-How you want your images to feel
-Where and how you envision displaying your photographs in your home
This step sets the tone for everything that follows. Your session is never a one-size-fits-all experience.
Once your session is reserved, the planning begins — and this is where the experience really becomes elevated.
You’ll receive access to my style guide and client closet for moms and babies, along with a personalized wardrobe and vision consultation. We’ll walk through color palettes, textures, and details that photograph beautifully and feel timeless. I will also help you schedule hair and makeup if you’d like to add that to your session.
Instead of wondering what should we wear?, you’ll feel confident knowing every detail has been thoughtfully considered. My goal is for you to show up feeling comfortable, confident, and cared for.
On the day of your session, everything we’ve planned comes together.
Whether we’re photographing your maternity journey, welcoming a newborn, or capturing your growing family, my approach is gentle and guided. You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about perfection — I’ll guide you every step of the way while leaving room for natural connection and movement.
Especially for newborn and family sessions, I create space for pauses, feeding, comforting, and real moments. This is your time to slow down and simply be present.

After your session, I carefully curate and hand-edit your images with consistency and artistry in mind. Each image is treated with intention — focusing on soft tones, true-to-life color, and emotion-driven storytelling.
Rather than overwhelming you with hundreds of images, I believe in delivering a refined gallery that tells a cohesive story and honors this season of your life. Families can expect between 40-80 from a Signature Session.
Your photographs are meant to live beyond your screen.
During your ordering appointment, I help you design albums and wall art that fit seamlessly into your home. From selecting the right images to choosing sizes and layouts, I guide you through the process so your memories are preserved as tangible, timeless artwork.
This is where your experience comes full circle — transforming moments into pieces you’ll see and feel every day.
Life with little ones moves quickly. The baby curls, the tiny hands, the way your family fits together right now — deserve more than a rushed session or forgotten digital files.
An intentionally designed session allows you to slow down, feel supported, and walk away with more than photos. You leave with artwork that tells your story and grows more meaningful with time.
If you’re looking for an experience in Kansas City that feels calm, thoughtful, and deeply personal, I would be honored to create that with you.
The best way to begin is by scheduling a consultation call, where we’ll talk through your vision, your home, and how you want your images to live beyond the screen.
